Hillsborough Hall built in the Adams by Thomas Steade in 1779 is an example of Adams style archirecture. The Steade family originally lived at Burrowlee House, situated just off Penistone Road. The Hall was sold to the Sheffield Corporation in 1892 and used as a branch library. The outbuildings and stables are used as storehouses by the Parks Department.
